Lead Facilities Technician

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in facilities management and will be proficient in using YARDI Facilities Manager or equivalent maintenance management system. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and maintaining a high standard of maintenance and safety. The Lead Facilities Technician will supervise Maintenance Workers and perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repair activities and notify the Director of Maintenance of need for repairs and improvements by performing the following duties:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Oversee and manage all aspects of facilities maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
  2. YARDI Facilities Manager: Utilize YARDI Facilities Manager to track, manage, and report on maintenance activities, work orders, and facility-related data..
  3. Data Analysis: Extract and analyze data from YARDI Facilities Manager to identify trends and areas for improvement. Generate reports to provide insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
  4. Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular inspections and audits using YARDI Facilities Manager to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  5. Team Leadership: Lead a team of Maintenance Workers, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective performance.
  6. Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure the longevity and reliability of all facilities and equipment.
  7. Vendor Management: Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance and repair work, ensuring timely and cost-effective services.
  8. Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety inspections and risk assessments.
  9. Budget Management: Assist in the preparation and management of the facilities maintenance budget, monitoring expenses and optimizing cost efficiency.
  10. Emergency Response: Coordinate and lead the response to any facilities-related emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption to operations and the safety of personnel.
  11. Training and Development: Train staff in the effective use of YARDI Facilities Manager, ensuring they are proficient in its functionalities and applications.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in facilities management or related field preferred.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities maintenance, with at least 2 years in a lead or supervisory role.
  3. Technical Skills: Proficiency in using YARDI Facilities Manager or equivalent system; strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general building maintenance.
  4. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  5. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance issues.
  6. Safety Knowledge: In-depth understanding of safety regulations and best practices in facilities maintenance.

  2. Flexibility: Willingness to work outside regular business hours when necessary, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
